New Year’s Resolutions and Achievements

The Razor asked Hopkins community members for their New Year’s resolutions for 2026 and their 2025 achievements.
Goals: 
  • I want to read at least 2 personal books a month.
  • To improve my physical strength, speed, and endurance
  • have better public speaking
  • less procrastination
  • To witness a fox sparrow with my own eyes!
  • Get off my phone
  • Be more assertive and more self-assuring
  • I want to feel more sure in myself, particularly in the fact that I am a capable and valid person.
  • Get onto JV tennis
  • This year, I want to branch out and meet more people.
  • getting a sleep schedule
  • trying to have a more positive outlook on the world
  • Be more consistent about using my students' Latin names in class.
  • I want to be more organized, and to get things done on time.
  • I would love to work towards improving my health through eating, exercise, and general mental wellness.

    Interesting/fun achievements: 
    • I ate healthier and better foods.
    • 20 minutes of phone screen time a day
    • going to the gym
    • Perform in a symphony orchestra with over 180 people
    • Figured out the perfect way to pet my dog
    • I was more social and gained more friends than I usually do
    • I matured a lot as a person, I became more independent.
    • strengthening and broadening friendships
    • I began to actually make my comics and stories instead of having many many drafts that I never look at again.
    • I improved my art, and worked harder than I had to improve my academics.
    • I read over a hundred books. That was my goal.
    • Finishing my both my halloween costumes with a few days to spare
    • Got my second degree blackbelt in October!!
