My first day at Hopkins. Everyone was so welcoming!

I remember listening to speeches rife with racism and sexism given by presidential candidates over and over again. I remember the denial of climate change amidst sixty-degree days in December. But most of all I remember wondering if it was always like this, and if I just hadn’t looked hard enough until now.
